Preparing message templates

To use the list management functionality, you must add several templates to your project resource files.

Subscription verification message template

This template is used for message requesting confirmation of mailing list subscription. Standard name of this template is ListSubscriptionVerification and can be changed in provider configuration. The resource string may contain the following numbered placeholders:
  • 0 = e-mail address
  • 1 = verification code
  • 2 = mailing list name
  • 3 = mailing list description

Sample ListSubscriptionVerificationSubject value:
[{2}] Verify your subscription to {3}

Sample ListSubscriptionVerificationBody value:
Hello,

someone (probably you) requested this e-mail address ({0}) to be subscribed to {3}. If you want to be subscribed, please go to the following address (entire address must be on single line):
http://localhost/Verify.aspx?op=sub&e={0}&c={1}&l={2}

If you do not want to be subscribed, simply ignore this message.

Removal verification message template

This template is used for message requesting confirmation of removal from mailing list. Standard name of this template is ListRemovalVerification and can be changed in provider configuration. The resource string may contain the following numbered placeholders:
  • 0 = e-mail address
  • 1 = verification code
  • 2 = mailing list name
  • 3 = mailing list description

Sample ListRemovalVerificationSubject value:
[{2}] Verify your removal from {3}

Sample ListRemovalVerificationBody value:
Hello,

someone (probably you) requested this e-mail address ({0}) to be removed from {3}. If you want to be removed, please go to the following address (entire address must be on single line):
http://localhost/Verify.aspx?op=rem&e={0}&c={1}&l={2}

If you do not want to be removed, simply ignore this message.

List message template

This template is used for each message sent to mailing list. Standard name of this template is ListMessage and can be changed in provider configuration. The resource string may contain the following numbered placeholders:
  • 0 = message subject
  • 1 = message body
  • 2 = mailing list name
  • 3 = mailing list description

Sample ListMessageSubject value:
[{2}] {0}

Sample ListMessageBody value:
{1}
